The attack had been sudden, unexpected. One moment, he'd been sitting on his bed, eyes closed, ready for his nightly meditation. The next, his apartment exploded into bright lights and broken glass. Hiryu had sprung into action immediately, instinct taking over where logic hadn't quite kicked in. One hand reaching to the closest assailant, grabbing the man's arm, and treating his body as cover for the hail of bullets than began to fly across the room.
They had caught him unprepared, and that only served to frustrate him. He didn't like to show weakness, and that was all he saw this as: a moment of weakness taken advantage of. He'd managed to keep moving though, jumping off the bed and through the door with the now-bullet-riddled body providing him decent cover. But the rest of the apartment was compromised as well, with assailants breaking through the window after rappelling down the outside of the building.
This wasn't some random attack. This was too tactical, too planned for that. The resources at work here were too much for some random hit job ordered by any one person. Body armor, assault weapons, tactical breaching. This was bigger than that, maybe some kind of large organization.
Unfortunately for them, that tactical training was their downfall.
The apartment was covered in smoke, no doubt from the smoke grenades that were tossed inside once the windows were breached. However, Hiryu had trained against maneuvers like this, and before they could get their bearings together, he'd gone to work. Holding his breath, he darted from one assailant to the next, grabbing large shards of glass and jamming them into the assailants' throats. It wasn't a perfect tactic, and some of them could fight off the initial assault, but it was only a distraction.
All he needed was the Cypher. And once he'd made it to the other side of the apartment, the familiar hum of the Cypher's plasma generator filled the air. The sound was enough to bring a deathly calm over the apartment, all guns immediately trained on the Strider, the glow of the Cypher making him a sitting duck.
But he had his weapon now.
And nothing signified how dangerous of a prospect that was more than the lightning-fast arc of plasma that shot forward, and disintegrated not just some of the assailants, but a portion of the wall. The confusion was enough for Hiryu to dash forward, weaving through the remaining assailants, before jumping out the building through the open wall. Red scarf trailing behind him, as he landed on the next rooftop over, and began running. Whatever force had attacked his apartment followed behind, both on foot and in vehicles.
But it didn't matter. They had lost the element of surprise.
They were already dead.

Hiryu had made it a point to keep a low profile when he arrived in this city. He didn't know much about it outside of what the mission briefing detailed, and as it turned out, it didn't detail a lot. The city was riddled with economic instability, social stigmas, and a form of government that made it a point to keep things the way they were. This government also made it a point to make this city appear like a paradise from an outsider's perspective.
Which was why he was here.
His targets were the people who ran the government. But given the current situation, he needed more information to go on before he could act in any capacity. As such, a low profile served him best, given any undue attention on him would draw suspicion. And right now, he needed the ability to move around freely, especially in back alleys like he was doing now.
He wasn't such a fool to think that this city didn't have venues through which he could learn more. If the government was corrupt, then there were people opposing it. Whatever the case may be, conflict of this sort always brought out those eager to make a profit from it. And that was what he needed to find.
The Black Market.
"I'm here for information." Hiryu said after knocking on the door standing disarmingly in front of it. He'd been tipped off that this might be someone who could help get him in touch with the right people. Suffice it to say, he had no other leads to go on.

Hiryu was tense as he wrapped his hand around the door handle. Unsure of what was waiting for him at the other side, despite being told to come here. It had been a simple enough message; someone just wanted to meet with him. But he was never told why, nor was he told who he was meeting.
Of course, the highly-trained assassin was suspicious. Even if he had been reassured that it wasn't a big deal, there hadn't been very many instances in his life where things ended up 'not being a big deal'. Usually things went south very quickly, which was the sort of thing he trained for. As such, this felt less like a meeting, and more like... a trap, really.
Whatever the case may be, he knew what he was capable of. If things went south, he would be prepared. As such, he finally turned the handle, and opened the door. "You asked to see me."

When Busan's Government told her she was sent to help a group capture a notorious ninja, she had been less than excited. Ninjas were deadly and left marks on her baby. Just ask Genji. But here she was, hanging back when that plasma bolt ripped up some of the landscape.
"Okay, fire everything!"
Her mech's weapons spinning, she started blanketing the area with medium range plasma bolts. Ninja or not, she kept her trigger on her boost button. She was the fastest microer in Starcraft. She served as a member of Overwatch. She was broadcasting this LIVE. No fucking way!
She bit off a curse in korean as the sensors blared. "ABOVE!"
What to do. Oh right, boost time! Right at Strider's spot on the rooftop.

"--Oof!"
The mech surprised him. It tackled him out of the air, causing him to roll across the rooftop. Granted, he got his bearings quickly enough, and the tackle didn't hurt him so much as disorient him. But it didn't change the fact that he didn't see it coming... and he didn't like unknown variables.
The Cypher hummed at his side, before he sliced forward, sending a plasma arc toward her. He then ran forward, keeping low to the ground, trailing behind the plasma attack to follow it up at close range. If she thought she could surprise him, she'd learn very quickly how bad of an idea that was.

D.Va knew that being fast was a ninja thing and she had fought Genji. Ah ha, he was going for the low blast. Tough kibbles. For him.
Her plasma weapons hummed to life as she locked and fired, holding down the trigger to make him weave. Genji slowed when forced to move out of a straight line, so she hoped this guy U turned like a biplane. Either way, she was ready for him as she thumbed the boost the moment her six seconds were up once more and launched herself up and over, spinning around in mid-air.
꼭 보다 빠르다 !

But he wasn't a normal ninja. He was a Strider.
So rather than weave, Hiryu kept moving. Looking like he was simply going to take said blasts to the face... before he brought his Cypher forward, and started slashing at the plasma blasts. The plasma-coated blade did a good job of deflecting the blasts, either to each side of him, or right back at her. Whatever the case, it wasn't slowing him down...
But then she boosted up and over, and Hiryu brought himself to a dead stop by hooking his climb sickle to the ground. Immediately slashing at the air in her position, and firing another plasma arc.

Landing a bit ungracefully, she hopped backwards as she sidestepped the plasma arc. "You're really starting to get on my nerves!"
The plasma in the air was disrupting her stream to twitch as well, and she grit her teeth as she fired on Strider. Five, four, three, two, one! Boosting up high into the air, she landed on a rooftop and sprayed the lower building with plasma fire.

The plasma fire on the rooftop was easy enough to dodge. The building wasn't going to fare as well, but that wasn't his concern right now. He'd spent too much time fighting this mech, and there was no telling how close the rest of the enemy forces were. So either he ran off, making her chase him... or he ended this.
He ran off the edge of the smaller building, landing on the outer wall of the building she was on. Hooking his climb sickle to it, before breaking one of the windows, and entering the building. It would provide enough cover as he sliced through the ceiling, making his way up to her. Cutting a hole around where she was standing, before jumping directly in front of her face, and reaching forward to grab her throat.

"Nerf this!"
Flicking a switch she pressed a big red button as the mech rocketed forward without her, hoping to catch Strider in its path since he was right in front of her. The machine hummed with critical energy as she grabbed a handrail and flipped around it, throwing herself to the roof with a spin of her body on the railing as she made her escape.
The mech detonated after a 4 second count, in a corona of plasma energy as she tabbed her watch, preparing to summon another.

However, when he heard the familiar hum of a generator going critical, all thoughts of making her pay for that flew out the window.
Hiryu righted himself quickly, pressing his feet against the mech as it tackled him. Pushing himself out of the way, just fast enough to avoid the explosion. Unfortunately, the tackle put him some distance away, on another rooftop. And he knew better now than to think that was her only mech.
"I don't have time for this," Was all he said before he pressed his hand to a button on his belt. Sending a signal to the exploding kunai underneath the entirety of the rooftop D.va was standing on. It had been a rush job, something he'd done as an afterthought as he cut through the building, in case he needed the distraction.
He didn't bother turning around to see if it worked. As he began putting some distance between himself and the mech, the heat he felt behind him told him all he needed to know.

Rushing behind a wall that was yet scored by damage, she pulled out her Light Gun and cocked it. Tabbing her earpiece, she stated, "Target is on the move. Ten seconds till next mecha drop."
Circling around, she kept low until she located him. What did Genji say? Keep low, keep mobile. That will reduce the opportunity to get hit by any projectiles. THERE!
Rolling out of hiding, she fired several blasts in his direction before ducking behind a retaining wall. No way she was going to lose. She was live for petes sake!
no subject
And it showed when he pulled some out, and threw them not at her, but at the wall past her. Making it look like he missed... before the kunai bounced off of the wall, and went right to what he approximated her position to be.

"Time to have a bit of fun."
Summoning her mecha, she climbed inside swift as a fox as it activated with a "Game On" in Korean. Close was fine with her, as she toggled her boost and rocketed out of hiding, U turning like a biplane as she launched herself right at Strider. But instead of bodychecking him this time, she fired the reverse thrust and killed the engine for a brief moment, letting her hover there for a half second.
Her plasma weapons began firing, peppering the area where he was. It was a battle of speed now as she landed, the boosters cooling down for a couple of seconds before her next boost skyward.
the funny part is that i was too distracted by overwatch to tag
"You have no idea what you're getting yourself into," He called out, voice harsh as he ripped the end of his scarf, and used it to bandage his upper arm. One of the plasma shots managed to burn at his skin, and it was sheer adrenaline alone that kept him from noticing the pain. "If you value your life, leave now."
He pulled out a blue kunai, and tapped it to the makeshift bandage around his wound. Biting his lower lip, as he felt the temperature on that area drop sharply. He needed to get out, especially if she could call down extra mecha. This was a battle of attrition, and at the end of the day, he was still human.
"I will not say it twice."
best kind of distraction
"But I play to win. Sorry, it's not personal."
Bing. Ultimate was up. Time to reck his face before she got rekted herself. Aiming her mecha and calculating the distance, she hit the boost, but seconds after she ejected.
The machine went up and over, the charge building up to a ghastly whine as it arced up and soared over the wall like a american football through the goalpost. No one expects the bomb.
Just to be safe, she decided to admire the explosion from afar as she dashed away, drawing her Light Gun and ducking behind a wall opposite the one Strider was hiding behind.
